Behold, the Bridegroom comes like the beloved returning after long absence, carrying His heart in His hands and whispering: "I have come for you."

Behold, the Bridegroom comes like the beloved returning after long absence, carrying His heart in His hands and whispering: "I have come for you."

So, O my soul, open your windows to hope, and scatter your weariness at His feet, and put on the garment of gladness, for the Bridegroom does not love gloom, but relishes joy, and embraces those who hope in Him as a mother embraces her child returned from afar.

O my soul, do not fear the night, for in its heart the dawn is born, and in its stillness Christ whispers: "Behold, I am coming." So rejoice, and lift your voice in praise; say: "Holy, holy, holy art Thou, O God," in love and longing.

O my soul, dance in His presence in repentance, and cry out: "Whenever You come, O Lord, You will find my heart ready," for the night has passed, and the sun does not set.

Say to Him without shame: "You were late, but my heart did not sleep"; say it while your eyes glisten with the holy tear, the tear of longing, the tear of meeting.

The hour of the embrace has come, and the hour for love to be translated into presence.
