Who are You, O Dweller in my depths,
O whisper that cannot be spoken, O fire that cannot be quenched! How do You enter into my depths, and open within me the windows of heaven?
You blow within me like a touch of tenderness that stirs my ribs, and kindle in my inmost being an ember that burns with love.
In the silence of the night, I hear Your steps,
and in the din of the heart, I feel You calling me: "Rise, and follow Me where there is no earth, for behold, heaven is being raised up in you."
O my Mover,
You are not an outward voice.
You are a surge in my blood.
You are a longing in my prayer.
If You are thus in the exile,
then how will the meeting with You be, face to face?
So come, burn us, O Holy Spirit; come, and dwell in us, and cleanse us from every defilement.
