Three luminaries lit the sky of the faith: Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, and John Chrysostom. Each of them has his own reflection of the light of Christ, the true Sun.
None of these three luminaries reflected the glory of themselves. What they did was to build bridges for unity: the unity of the Church. They "lost" their lives in the wide space of ecclesial love. Therefore, their true honouring lies in our total taking of the side of the holiness for which they lived.
Let us learn the pastoral care embodied by Basil, the radiant wisdom in the words of Gregory, and the golden courage in the homilies of John.
Thus we are turned into disciples walking the same road: the road of holiness, where the moon dissolves into the light, and the voices vanish into the one divine symphony.
